Position entails overseeing all operations in a private school setting. Duties include but are not limited to;

General Office Tasks: answering phones, interaction with students and families. Filing, record keeping, documentation and state mandated compliance tasks, letter writing, respond to emails. Staff time off tracking, student and staff file tracking for state mandated requirements.

Accounting Tasks: A/R and A/P, yearly tuition invoicing, budget preparation, payroll and filing of taxes, monthly childcare invoicing, yearly budget preparation, financial tracking records, financial report preparation, including P&L reports. Implementation and record keeping for tuition repayment program, monthly journal entries.  Preparation of bank deposits.

Other Tasks: Monthly staff and board meetings, yearly handbook review and edit, state report compliance tasks, transfer of student records, school calendar preparation, class lists and one call now preparation, tuition vs enrollment tracking, back to school packets preparation. Assist administrator as needed. Provides general support to all staff, students and families. Assists also with fundraising events. Tracking and ordering of all supplies, tracking and ordering of supplies for auxiliary Services, tracking and implementation of auxiliary services program, yearly auditing of student and staff files, provides tours for families in absence of Administrator.

Office duties can include contacting families with regard to children who are ill and assisting teachers in the classroom or hall as needed. Provides any and all support needed by Administrator.

Job Requirements:

Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Gmail, Publisher proficient. Good command of the English language both spoken and written is necessary. An accounting background would be entirely helpful. Experience with human resources tasks is a plus. Excellent communication skills are required along with the ability to multi-task. Flexibility and a positive attitude are paramount.

Job Details:

Hours are Monday through Friday during the school year from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Summer hours are flexible but usually entail 3 days a week 3-4 hrs a day during the months of June and July. We typically follow a standard school schedule and are not in session during holidays and scheduled breaks. Salary is based on experience and education. Qualifications:
The qualities and characteristics desired for Toddler Teacher at are, in part, identified below and in alignment with the Ohio Standards.
 
The Toddler Co-Teacher will:

         Help create a warm-loving environment for all children at FMA.

         Create a culture that supports continuous improvement throughout FMA.

         Work in partnership to create the most positive environment for the children.

         Work with rest of FMA staff/administrator to sustain a focus on FMA goals.

         Set a limited number of measurable, focused goals that reflect high expectations for improved student achievement and classroom instruction.

         Help to accurately implement FMA curriculum, instruction and assessment.

         Inspire community confidence.

         Communicate effectively on both public and private levels.

         Possess a sense of vision as an educational leader.

         Persuade others to share a vision-mission for the school district including building commitments and motivating others to work toward defined goals.

         Effectively apply leadership to an educational setting.


Requirements:
Firelands Montessori Academy will consider applications from individuals who:

         Previous teaching experience preferred and/or experience in various school roles.

         Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in managing and encouraging young children.

 

Contract & Timeline:
Firelands Montessori will offer salary and an initial contract commensurate with education and experience.
